Excited Curios is a wood workshop in Burnt Hills, NY. We design and build a smattering of games — by hand with salvaged hardwood. No factory, no veneers, no rush.

We started with one game.
Excited Curios began in a garage with a desire to make life more fun — the first prototype of Falter soon followed. Nowadays, we source all of our lumber locally, build in small batches, and make everything by hand.
The catalog is intentionally small. Five games. We'd rather know a few things well than offer a hundred we don't.
Our promise

A quality environment
...in every sense. No veneer, no big-box store. Every surface you see and touch is crafted from a felled local tree.

By hand, mostly
Machines mill and rough-cut. The joints, the surfaces, and the finish are all worked by hand. It's slower. It shows.

Made to be played
Hard-wax oil finish and glues are food safe, and solid wood is sturdier than cardboard. Our games last longer.
On our process

This serves two purposes - it helps reduce waste and helps keeps our green coverage locally & it helps us keep our prices down. Everyone deserves to play good games.
